I always love watching this video from the talented Alice Shirley, illustrator.
The beauty of nature inspires Hermès’ silk scarves designers. Natural histories, tigers, butterflies, octopuses, wildflowers… Alice Shirley has been working with Hermes since 2020. Alice draws the striking variety of the fauna and flora on her trail. She is motivated by the preservation of species, environmental awareness, and sustainable development.

It’s great to see the workshop and her process too. Inspiring.
I have been showing this video to my students on the Sustainable Design and Brand Identity in the Luxury Industry course which I run at #rennesbusinessschool over the last few years to show them how many luxury brands find their inspiration in nature.
Here’s an interview with her about her work with Vanderohe to raise money for one of the world’s leading reefscaping programs and has recently released the second in her series of prints, The Coral Triangle, with all proceeds going to Marine Savers.
